Hidden Histories

Collaborating artists: Mary Bourne, visual artist and Shane Strachan, writer

During the pandemic, Mary Bourne collaborated with writer Shane Strachan on Hidden Histories, an engagement project with pupils at Lochpots Primary School as part of Fraserburgh 2021. This project aimed to breathe new life into some of the magnificent historic buildings in the town.

The artists worked with the pupils remotely using videos and worksheets, but despite the challenges the children completed some excellent work from which Mary developed a postcard pack and banner exhibition exploring not only the buildings, but the lives of the people who have inhabited them over the years.
